Imperial Sugar Historic District
|
|
Over time, Sugar Land has gained a reputation as an affluent Houston suburb, a shift from its former life as a blue-collar, agriculture-dependent town. Its exceptional trade area and strong demographics are naturally suited to high-quality retail and restaurants. Plans include 200,000 square feet of office, 150,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space, and approximately 500 residences. These will be charmingly situated in a “historic district.” Here, the anchor will be the Char House, a distinctive red brick building where brown sugar was once turned a brilliant white. This historic landmark defines the history of the town … and will take it into the future.
